What is difference between listening and hearing?

Hearing and listening seems two similar terms but they are different from each other in their meaning and context also.

Hearing is mechanical phenomenon .It is exhibited by the all creatures on the earth .We hear thousand of voices in our daily life such as birds voices, animal voices and voices of objects falling on ground but we are unable to a understand them.

If your hearing gets decrease you can improve and increase it by using instruments also.

Hearing basically occurs between two different species having different frequency.

Hearing is passive process it doesn't require much concentration and attention and you don't need to spend energy and a focus for it.

Listening is for more higher and deeper stage then hearing.

It is an active process it requires attention concentration and mental focus without you want be able to listen anyone.

The sum and substance of whole discussion is that hearing doesn't require much concentration ,attention and it is passive process . It occurs between two different species having different frequency.

On the other hand listening is active process it requires attention , concentration , without it , you can't listen other people and it happens between two similar species having similar frequency.
