Our mind is one of laziest creature on earth. It loves to conserve energy and works on autopilot. It is evolved to survive not to thrive.

We all people want stress free, challenge free, luxury, problem free and comfortable life.

The problem with this mind set is that It wouldn't allow you to excel in life it would make your life dull and monotonous.

The nature has placed success and happiness in doing hard stuff such as solo journey, meditation, hard work and learning to new skills.

Nothing worth having comes easy ( Theoder Roosevelt)

If you want to live your dream life you have to tam and train your mind for doing hard stuff. Here are some practical keys for doing hard stuffing in life.

Positive visualization

Visualization is process of creating images in your brain about your specific task or project .It releases the same hormone in your body as the released in real event.

Most of people when have to face difficult situation , visualize negative aspect of that thing, because we are negative biased than positive.

Let me give you simple example to understand it. When I gave my first presentation it was worse, The reason was simple that when I heard that I have to give presentation, my mind started getting flood with doubts and low confidence that I am not enough. I lack confidence. It made worse my presentation. When we dwell upon things for longer period they turn into reality. I think if I made positive visualization about presentation I could have done much better.

The same is with many people. They had negative thoughts about difficult things. It make hard things hard and hard things further harder. So be positive and create realistic image in your brain.

Start small

Many people belief that to change their lives, they have to take big leaps. They start doing things greater than their potential. It doesn't give them dopamine. They lose interest and ultimately they quit them.

The best way is to start with small steps. Whatever you want in life, take baby steps toward it

If you want to build reading habit, start reading two to three pages daily.

If you want to loose weight start doing small exercises and make micro shifts in food selection.

The advantage of small steps is that it makes journey easier, you enjoy the process and success seems achievable.

So, if you want to do hard stuff divide your tasks into small and micro steps. It will make them easy for you to achieve it.

Be consistent

The last but not least step to make hard things easier is to be consistent in doing things. It is one of main reason that people can't stick to hard stuff. They take action in fits and spurts.

This doesn't tam and train your mind for hard stuff. Our brain use neural pathways for doing things in life. It takes minimum about two months for our brain to develop neural pathways that can make task easier.

So be consistent in doing hard things.

If you are running out of time, instead of doing it as routine schedule, do it for minimum time but do it regularly .

For example I read books for two hours. But when I am running out of time I read books just for half hour to keep my brain consistent and habitual for reading.

Conclusion

Doing hard things is necessary for our personal and professional life. Without doing hard things it would be nearly impossible to excel in life and achieve your dream goals.

By positive visualization, dividing tasks into smaller portions and being consistent will help you to make tasks easier and will help you to attain state of flow in doing hard things.

I am sure you have loved someone or have been in love with someone. We use word love in multiple ways ,at one moment we say we love our cats ,pets and at other moment we say we love our parents and and next moment we say we love our wife etc.  Love is an emotional need for all human beings. It needs to be filled like physical needs such as water, food, shelter etc. Without love we are vulnerable to stress , anxiety and depression etc.  Love is not a just emotion it's a force that propel us toward action.
