The transition from basic mobile phone to smart phone was biggest transition in last decade. It opened doors for many software engineers to develop apps.


When social media apps were launched, techno optimist presented the founders of these apps as heroes, societal reformers and genius. I think they deserve for such titles.


These social media apps made millions of people life funny, easier and comfortable. They helped the people to connect with each other and helped the people in thriving their business and list of advantages goes on.


 It Would be injustice to ignore down sides, demerits and negative impacts of the social media apps. These social media apps caused near equal damage as advantage in our society.


They are damaging effects are not just limited to adults but children have also been equally impacted by the negative impacts of these apps as adults.


These social media apps shifted children from Play based childhood to social media based childhood. Nowadays children spend more time in virtual world than real world. 


This overconsumption of virtual world in form of social media apps is weakening their face to face communication skill ,problem solving power and making them vulnerable and easy prey to stress , anxiety and depression in adulthood .


The main victim of social media apps are adults. Thees apps impacted them negatively from every aspect of life such as 


  • Sleep deprivation 
  • Shortening of attention span 
  • Cutting connection with nature 
  • Mental illness 
  • Put them in endless trademill of comparison 
  • Weekend relationship with humans etc.

All social media apps like Facebook ,Instagram, tik Tok are addictive in nature. They do same psychological changes in brain as substances consumed by addicts such as cocaine, ice, ( crystal), morphine and marijuana etc. 


If you have doubt you can experiment for 3 days by quitting  social media. I am 101% sure that you will feel universal and common symptoms of all addiction withdrawal such as anxiety, irritability, dysphoria and restlessness. That's main sign that social media apps have addiction like affects on us. 


The owners of these social media apps are billionaire. They spend millions of Dollars to know about human psychology they use that psychology to gain attention from their viewers and it helps them to earn money.


Quitting any addiction needs proper plan scheme and structure۔ without proper scheme , structure you will never be able to quit your addiction and you will make your journey harder and harder unless until you will fail in achieving your target.


The same is with social media apps if you want to quit social media addiction you have to follow a proper scheme and structure .
