Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that was discovered by Arvid carelesson in 1958. He discovered this neurotransmitter in his lab at Sweden.
This neuro transmitter perform multiple functions in our body such as body movement ,memory and regulating sleep etc.
Above this the most important function of this neurotransmitter is to give the sense of happiness, motivation and pleasure to our body.
Without dopamine our life would be like a graveyard and it would be a life without colour and emotions.
There are two types of dopamine one is cheap dopamine and other is hard dopamine.
Cheap dopamine is such type which we get from easy sources such as smoking ,sex ,browsing through social media, watching vulgar content and eating food loaded with sodium and sugar .These all things gives Dopamine spikes
Hard or earned dopamine is a such type which we get from hard sources such as meditation ,exercise, journaling ,solving problems and focusing on on hard things .
Our brain is evolved to survive not thrive. we prefer and selects easy things over hard and complex things . I shall give you some examples to understand it.
You have four options
First option is that get up at 8 o'clock and go for gym
Second option is keep on sleeping at 10 o'clock.
Third option is read book for 1 hour and make notes
4th option is use social media such as Facebook tik Tok and Instagram for 1 hour .
I'm sure sure that 90% of the people will prefer and priotise sleeping and using social media over hitting gym and reading books.
The same is with dopamine our brain priotise easy dopamine sources over hard dopamine sources and it makes our life useless and unproductive and a we feel a strange type of a mental emotional burden in our life.
Just imagine this if you get your happiness from using social media eating food loaded with sodium and sugar ,smoking and a sex how would be your life.
And now just imagine this if you get your dopamine from exercise meditation، reading books how would be your life.
Sure you are live will be productive useful meaningful and you will feel satisfaction .
We live in society that is flooded by cheap dopamine these are all making us weak ,unproductive and useless if you want to be productive useful and a leave a meaningful life get you a dopamine from hard things and it will completely change your life the rest is your choice
